Refunds and Cancellation

Planning a wedding is expensive enough. This page says plainly what you are charged, what happens when you stop, and the cases where we give money back.

Last updated 3 September 2026

The short version

  • The 7-day trial is genuinely free. Cancel before it ends and you are charged nothing.
  • Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep the Suite until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Payments already taken are not generally refunded, apart from the cases below and anything the Australian Consumer Law requires.
  • Cancelling takes two clicks on the billing page. You never have to email us to leave.

The free trial

Every new account starts with a 7-day free trial of the whole Suite. Card details are taken at the start so the subscription can carry on without a break, but no charge is made until the trial ends.

Cancel at any point during those 7 days and you pay nothing. There is no partial charge, no setup fee and nothing to claim back.

Subscription charges

After the trial the Suite is US$49 per month, or US$499 per year on the yearly plan, which saves US$89 against paying monthly. Stripe charges the card on file at the start of each billing period and renews automatically until you cancel.

Payments already taken are not refundable, and we do not pro-rate a part-used month or year, because your access continues for the whole period you paid for. That is the general rule, and the two sections below are the real exceptions to it.

Your rights under Australian law

Nothing on this page limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our service comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded. If the Suite is not fit for its purpose, does not match how we described it, or fails in a way that amounts to a major failure, you are entitled to a refund or to have the problem fixed, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss.

If you think that applies to you, write to us and say what went wrong. We would rather sort it out directly than have you chase it, and we will not hide behind this page.

How to cancel

  1. Sign in and open the billing page.
  2. Choose Manage billing, which opens your own Stripe customer portal.
  3. Select Cancel plan and confirm.

That is the whole process. There is no phone call, no retention offer to decline and no notice period. If you cannot get into your account, email us from the address you signed up with and we will cancel it for you.

What happens after you cancel

  • The next charge stops. Nothing further is taken.
  • You keep the Suite until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Your wedding stays put. Your data is not deleted when a subscription ends, so you can come back and pick up where you left off.
  • Your wedding website stops being publicly reachable once your access ends. Take a copy of anything you want to keep before then, or export your planners while you still have access.
  • Deletion is separate. If you want everything removed rather than parked, ask us and we will delete it permanently.

When we do refund

We give money back, without arguing about it, when:

  • you were charged after cancelling, or charged twice;
  • a technical fault on our side stopped you using the Suite for a meaningful part of a billing period;
  • you were charged for a plan you did not choose;
  • someone charged your card without your authority;
  • the Australian Consumer Law entitles you to a refund.

Email us within 30 days of the charge with the date and the last four digits of the card. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe and normally appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

We also look kindly on the honest cases: a trial that ran over because the wedding was postponed, a duplicate account, a plan bought twice by two halves of the same couple. Ask.

How to reach us

The Wedding Suite is run by Mel in Australia. Billing questions and refund requests go to hello@theweddingsuite.co, or through the contact page, where Billing is one of the subjects. Couples usually hear back within one business day.
